If you don't have an SACD player, then you can only play an SACD disc if it is a dual-layer disc with a standard CD layer - in which case you're just listening to the regular CD part, not the DSD SACD part. It stores data in DSD format rather than redbook audio. SACD is a different format that was introduced back around 2000 as a potential replacement for the CD. Does anyone else know more about this?
